I should be on commission for the 1994 book "The Fourth Turning", I keep convincing people to buy a copy. I do it because I believe there's strong evidence that the author's observations on the cyclical nature of history have something to teach us. As we mark the 100th anniversary of the beginning of WWI and the 75th anniversary of the beginning of WWII, it's clear that the world's marching back in the wrong direction. And that book explains why.

I hope they're right that my son will prove too young to wind up a skeleton in a uniform in .. I dunno, Western Asia.
